Ingredients
  

Meat and Seasoning
  • 1 lb ground beef or ground turkey
  • 1 tbsp olive oil optional
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 cup water or beef broth

Method
 

Cooking the Meat
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef. If using, add olive oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Cook the beef, breaking it apart with a spatula, until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  4. Add salt, black pepper, chili powder, cumin, garlic powder, and onion powder to the meat.
  5. Pour in the water or beef broth and stir to combine.
  6. Reduce heat to low and let simmer for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
