  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 3 cups diced apples use tart varieties like Granny Smith
  • 1 box yellow cake mix
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 2 large eggs
For the Topping
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup chopped pecans or walnuts optional
  • 1/2 cup butter melted

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350?F.
  2. Prepare the baking dish by greasing a 9x13 inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  3. Mix pumpkin and spices in a bowl until smooth.
  4. Layer apple slices evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  5. Spread the pumpkin mixture over the apples.
  6. Sprinkle dry cake mix evenly over the pumpkin layer.
  7. Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix layer.
  8. Bake for 45-50 minutes until bubbly and golden brown.
