Ingredients
  

Rice and Vegetables
  • 1 cup long-grain white rice
  • 1 cup vegetable broth or chicken broth
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 1 medium bell pepper diced
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper to taste
  • 1 cup frozen peas optional

Method
 

Cooking the Rice
  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In the rice cooker, combine the rinsed rice, vegetable broth, tomato sauce, diced onion, diced bell pepper, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Stir to combine all ingredients evenly.
  4. Close the rice cooker lid and set it to the 'white rice' setting.
  5. Once the rice is cooked, let it sit for 5 minutes before opening the lid.
  6. Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in the frozen peas if using.
