Ingredients
  

Chicken
  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Sauce
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 cup salsa mild or spicy, based on preference
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil optional
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the chicken broth, salsa, olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken in the crockpot.
Cooking
  1. Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and easily shredded.
  2. Remove the chicken from the crockpot and shred it using two forks.
  3. Return the shredded chicken to the crockpot and mix it with the sauce.
Serving
  1. Serve the shredded chicken in tacos, on sandwiches, or over salads.
