Ingredients
  

Rhubarb Syrup
  • 1 cup rhubarb, chopped fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup sugar granulated
  • 1 cup water
Cocktail Ingredients
  • 4 oz bourbon
  • 1 oz rhubarb syrup homemade or store-bought
  • 4 dashes bitters Angostura or similar
  • 4 twists orange peel for garnish

Method
 

Prepare Rhubarb Syrup
  1. In a saucepan, combine chopped rhubarb, sugar, and water. Bring to a boil over medium heat, then reduce to a simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove solids. Allow the syrup to cool.
Mix Cocktail
  1. In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine bourbon, rhubarb syrup, and bitters.
  2. Shake well and strain into a rocks glass filled with ice.
  3. Garnish with a twist of orange peel.
