Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 3 pounds corned beef brisket with seasoning packet
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon black peppercorns
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
Vegetables (optional)
  • 4 medium carrots peeled and cut into chunks
  • 4 medium potatoes peeled and quartered
  • 1 medium cabbage cut into wedges

Method
 

Prepare the Brisket
  1. Preheat the oven to 300?F (150?C).
  2. Rinse the corned beef brisket under cold water to remove excess salt.
  3. Place the brisket in a roasting pan and cover it with water.
  4. Add the seasoning packet, black peppercorns, minced garlic, bay leaves, mustard seeds, and coriander seeds to the water.
Roast the Brisket
  1. Cover the roasting pan tightly with aluminum foil.
  2. Roast in the preheated oven for about 3 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 190?F (88?C).
  3. Optional: Add carrots, potatoes, and cabbage to the pan during the last hour of cooking.
Serve
  1. Remove the brisket from the oven and let it rest for 15 minutes before slicing.
  2. Slice against the grain and serve with the vegetables and cooking liquid.
