Ingredients
  

Meatballs
  • 1 pound ground beef or a mix of beef and pork
  • 1 cup bread crumbs preferably Italian seasoned
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 tablespoons parsley chopped
Subs
  • 4 sub rolls Italian bread or hoagie rolls
  • 2 cups marinara sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded

Method
 

Prepare Meatballs
  1. Preheat the oven to 400?F (200?C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, parmesan cheese, and parsley. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Place meatballs on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes or until cooked through.
Assemble Subs
  1. In a skillet, heat marinara sauce over medium heat. Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce and simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Slice the sub rolls lengthwise and place them on a baking sheet.
  3. Spoon the meatballs and sauce into each roll, then top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
  4. Broil in the oven for 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
