Rhubarb Sauce Ingredients
  • 4 cups fresh rhubarb, chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract optional

Method
 

Cooking the Rhubarb Sauce
  1. In a saucepan, combine the chopped rhubarb, sugar, and water.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the rhubarb is soft.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice and vanilla extract, if using, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving or storing.
