Ingredients

Dough
  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 packet Active Dry Yeast or 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • 1 teaspoon Sugar to activate yeast
  • 3/4 cup Warm Water about 110?F
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
Garlic Butter Topping
  • 4 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted Butter melted
  • 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper

Method

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
Shape the Knots
  1. Preheat the oven to 400?F (200?C).
  2. Punch down the risen dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope about 6 inches long and tie into a knot.
  3. Place the knots on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Bake and Serve
  1. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and pepper. Brush the mixture over the knots.
  2. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Remove from oven and brush with remaining garlic butter.
  3. Serve warm and enjoy!
