Ingredients
  

Donut Batter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Glaze and Toppings
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup colorful sprinkles

Method
 

Make the Donuts
  1. Preheat the oven to 350?F (175?C) and grease the donut pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, mix the egg, buttermilk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients and stir until just combined.
  5. Spoon the batter into the prepared donut pan, filling each cavity about 2/3 full.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  7. Allow the donuts to cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
Prepare the Glaze
  1. In a bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Dip the top of each cooled donut into the glaze, allowing excess to drip off.
  3. Immediately sprinkle colorful sprinkles on top of the glazed donuts.
