Ingredients
  

Potatoes
  • 4 medium russet potatoes peeled and sliced
Cheese Sauce
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese plus extra for topping
  • 1 can cream of chicken soup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Topping
  • 1 cup cornflakes crushed
  • 2 tablespoons butter melted

Method
 

Prepare the Potatoes
  1. Preheat the oven to 350?F (175?C). Grease a baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine sour cream, cheddar cheese, cream of chicken soup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the bottom of the baking dish.
Assemble the Casserole
  1. Spread half of the cheese mixture over the potatoes.
  2. Add the remaining potatoes and top with the rest of the cheese mixture.
  3. In a small bowl, mix crushed cornflakes with melted butter and sprinkle over the top.
Bake
  1. Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  2. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
