- Preheat your oven to 350?F (175?C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Whisk them together until well combined.
- Cream the butter and sugars in a separate large bowl using an electric mixer until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture gradually, mixing just until incorporated.
- Fold in the chocolate chunks gently until they're evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough onto your prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake in your preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set but the centers still look slightly underbaked.
- Cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Optional: Sprinkle with sea salt right before serving for an extra flavor.
