  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter cold
  • 1 cup diced apples tart varieties like Granny Smith
  • 1/2 cup milk or cream can substitute with non-dairy option
For the Glaze
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp milk or cream to adjust consistency
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Method
 

Baking Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 400?F (200?C).
  2. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl: flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt until well blended.
  3. Cut in cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until pea-sized pieces form.
  4. Fold in the diced apples carefully until evenly distributed.
  5. Add the wet ingredients: milk and vanilla extract. Stir just until combined.
  6. Shape the dough into a circle on a floured surface, about 1 inch thick. Cut into wedges or use a round cutter.
  7. Bake in your preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown on top.
  8. Cool on a wire rack for about 5-10 minutes before serving warm.
  9. Optional: Drizzle with a simple glaze for added sweetness.
