Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh blueberries washed and stems removed
  • 1 medium jalape?o pepper seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 packet pectin for thickening

Method
 

Prepare the Ingredients
  1. In a saucepan, combine the blueberries, chopped jalape?o, and lemon juice.
  2. Mash the blueberries slightly with a wooden spoon to release their juices.
Cook the Jam
  1. Add the sugar and pectin to the saucepan and stir well.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Once boiling, continue to cook for 10-15 minutes until the mixture thickens.
Jar the Jam
  1. Remove the saucepan from heat and let the jam cool for a few minutes.
  2. Pour the jam into sterilized jars and seal tightly.
  3. Allow to cool completely before storing in the refrigerator.
