Method
Prepare the Fruit
- In a saucepan, combine blueberries and blackberries. Cook over medium heat until the berries are soft and release their juices, about 5-7 minutes.
Blend the Sauce
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Transfer the berry mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.
Combine Ingredients
- In the same saucepan, combine the blended berry mixture with ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
Cook the Sauce
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
Cool and Store
- Remove from heat and let cool. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
