Ingredients
  

Fruits
  • 1 cup blueberries fresh or frozen
  • 1 cup blackberries fresh or frozen
Sauce Base
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

Prepare the Fruit
  1. In a saucepan, combine blueberries and blackberries. Cook over medium heat until the berries are soft and release their juices, about 5-7 minutes.
Blend the Sauce
  1. Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Transfer the berry mixture to a blender and blend until smooth.
Combine Ingredients
  1. In the same saucepan, combine the blended berry mixture with ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt.
Cook the Sauce
  1. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat. Cook for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
Cool and Store
  1. Remove from heat and let cool. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
