Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups fresh blackberries washed and drained
  • 1 cup granulated sugar adjust based on sweetness preference
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour for thickening
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice freshly squeezed
Topping
  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 1/2 cup sliced almonds optional
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon ground

Method
 

Prepare the Filling
  1. Preheat the oven to 350?F (175?C). In a mixing bowl, combine blackberries, sugar, flour, and lemon juice. Toss gently to coat the berries.
Prepare the Topping
  1. In another bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, almonds, and cinnamon until crumbly.
Assemble and Bake
  1. Spread the blackberry mixture evenly in a baking dish. Top with the oat mixture, spreading it evenly over the berries.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the berries are bubbling.
Serve
  1. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
