- 1/4 cup granulated sugar (plus extra for sprinkling)
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 3–4 tbsp ice water
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
- Prepare the dough by mixing flour and salt in a bowl. Cut in cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add ice water until dough forms. Wrap in plastic wrap and chill for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 400?F (200?C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Toss cherries with sugar in a bowl and let sit to release juices.
- Roll out chilled dough into a 12-inch circle on a floured surface.
- Transfer the dough to the baking sheet, place cherries in the center, leaving a 2-inch border, then fold edges over the filling.
- Sprinkle additional sugar on top and bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
