- 1 lb flank steak, sliced against the grain
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp fresh ginger, grated
- 4 green onions, chopped (reserve some for garnish)
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
Instructions
- Slice the flank steak into thin strips against the grain. Mince the garlic and grate the ginger.
- In a bowl, combine beef, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated beef (discard excess marinade) and cook until browned, about 3 minutes.
- Remove beef from skillet. In the same pan, add brown sugar and any leftover marinade mixed with a splash of water. Stir until thickened for about 2 minutes.
- Return beef to skillet along with green onions; toss to coat everything in the sauce.
- Serve over rice or noodles and garnish with extra green onions.
