- 1 head green cabbage
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 cup uncooked white rice
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 24 oz tomato sauce
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp dried oregano
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350?F (175?C) and boil a large pot of water.
- Blanch the whole head of cabbage in boiling water for 3-5 minutes until leaves are tender. Remove and let cool.
- In a skillet over medium heat, saut? diced onions until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Stir in uncooked rice, garlic powder, and oregano.
- Spread some tomato sauce on the bottom of a baking dish. Fill each softened cabbage leaf with the meat mixture and roll tightly, placing seam-side down in the dish.
- Pour remaining tomato sauce over the rolls and cover with aluminum foil.
- Bake for 45 minutes, then let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
