Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Gradually add lukewarm water while stirring until a smooth dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until elastic.
- In another bowl, combine chopped cherries with sugar; let sit for 10?15 minutes.
- Roll out the dough to 1/8 inch thick and cut into circles using a round cutter.
- Place about a teaspoon of cherry filling on each circle, fold over, and pinch tightly to seal.
- Boil salted water in a large pot; drop in vareniki in batches and cook until they float (about 5?7 minutes).
- Serve warm topped with sour cream.
