- 1 cup granulated sugar (divided)

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350?F (175?C) and grease an 8×8-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, mix 1 ? cups flour with ? cup sugar, then blend in cold butter until crumbly. Press into the bottom of the dish.
- Combine cherries with remaining sugar and layer over the crust.
