Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 9 no-boil lasagna noodles
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups shredded whole milk mozzarella cheese
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter
  • ? cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375?F (190?C) and spray a baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked; drain excess fat and stir in marinara sauce. Let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. In another saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, whisk in flour until smooth, then gradually add milk while whisking until thickened (approximately 5 minutes). Stir in vanilla extract.

  5. Cover with foil (avoid contact with cheese) and bake for 25 minutes; remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serve with fresh basil if desired.
