  • ½ cup warm milk (110°F)
  • 4 tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ tsp nutmeg

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine warm milk and active dry yeast; let bloom for about 5 minutes.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  3. Add melted butter, pumpkin puree, and egg to the yeast mixture; stir to combine.
  4. Gradually add dry ingredients until a sticky dough forms. Knead on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  5. Place in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise for about 1 hour until doubled in size.
  6. Roll out dough into a rectangle and spread with softened butter.
  7. Mix brown sugar with cinnamon; sprinkle over dough and roll tightly into a log.
  8. Slice into 12 rolls and place them in a greased baking pan. Let rise while preheating oven to 350°F.
  9. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown; drizzle with cream cheese icing if desired.
